*Adverb: “Especially”  “尤其是”    yóu qí shì

When we want to arouse someone’s attention to a point, we will use the adverb “especially”. The adverb “especially” in Chinese is “尤其是”. When we want to talk about something which is special, we can also use “尤其是”.

Example:

尤其是當遇上百貨公司大減價時，他們更會瘋狂購物呢！
yóu qí shì dɑ̄ng yù shɑ̀ng bɑ̌i huò gōng sī dɑ̀ jiɑ̌n jiɑ̀ shí，tɑ̄ men gèng huì fēng kuɑ́ng gòu wù ne！
They will buy goods in a crazy way especially when there is a big sale in the department store.

From the above example, Ali is talking about the people who love shopping and they will buy goods in a crazy way in some cases, 
i.e. when there is a big sale. Therefore, the adverb “尤其是” is used to draw the attention of the listener to  a particular  point. Besides, you may see that there is a difference between the Chinese and the English sentence structures. In English, 
we will bring out the consequence first. In Chinese, we will bring out the situation first. Therefore, we have to pay attention to
 the sentence structure when writing a sentence with the adverb “尤其是”.
